Moto E goes official with Rs 6,999 price tag, to hit Flipkart at midnight

Following a flurry of leaks in the past couple of days, the dual SIM Moto E has finally been made official by Motorola at its New Delhi event. Priced surprisingly low at Rs 6,999, this device will be sold exclusively by Flipkart (just like its G and X cousins) from midnight tonight.

Due to its extremely affordable price and a general love among Indian buyers for that factor, it is expected to fly off shelves quickly, so you’d better go for it as soon as it hits availability status. The specifications of the Moto E are same as the ones detailed in the various recent leaks, but there are a few surprises in the design department.

As the video in the space below reveals, this KitKat-based smartphone will feature a water-resistant splash guard. Moreover, it will even grab a scratch-resistant display. According to Motorola, it kicks in an ‘all-day battery’ as well.

You’ll notice the presence of a speaker grill on its front surface, but what you’ll find missing is a front-facing camera. The familiar Motorola dimple stays prominent on the rear surface, and what’s interesting that this device offers a microSD card slot which was absent in the last two biggies from the company.

The product pages for the black and white models of the Moto E are live now on Flipkart, and this phone is also supposed to receive interchangeable back panels soon. Like we said, you’ll be able to purchase it from midnight tonight at a price of Rs 6,999.
