The Modbook Pro which is expected to ship by the end of this month has been put through a few hardware changes owing to which the total RAM, SSD storage and pen pressure levels have now doubled. The device is expected to reach customers on-schedule and it carries no modification in its retail tag.
The first edition of this MacBook cum tablet combination was unveiled back in 2009. And the latest iteration made its debut this June, while pre-orders were commenced last month. The pen pressure levels employed here for the Wacom Penabled digitizer have been bumped up from 512 to 1,024. This is said to provide users with more precise and subtle control during input. The starting configuration which was disclosed to carry a 64GB SSD has been increased to 120GB of hoard capacity, while the minimum systems memory of 4GB will now be 8GB. The modifications carried out apply to the base version only.
The Modbook Pro is dressed in an AlphaBody design which renders a durable form factor by incorporating all components within a lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum cutout. The hardware employed here is of a new 13.3-inch MacBook Pro base system. The Wacom digitizer is coupled with a ForceGlass screen to provide a paper-emulating drawing surface. Coming to the specifications, potential buyers can configure this tablet with a 2.9GHz dual core Core i7 processor, 16GB of dual channel RAM, 480GB of Sanshara-class SATA 3 SSD storage and a 13.3-inch LED-backlit TFT LCD panel. The slate can be programmed to run Windows as well, through a dual boot setup.
As stated earlier, the Modbook Pro has managed to retain its previously disclosed retail tag, despite of the changes carried out to its RAM, SSD and pen sensitivity. This means all pre-orders will ship with the new hardware without costing users a single buck extra. The tablet can be purchased through the company’s online store and it’s expected to roll out on or before November 30.
