OnePlus has been steadily hiking the price of its flagship phones with every new generation and it looks like the OnePlus 6T is going to be no different. The phone’s Indian costs and variants have gotten leaked online just a few weeks ahead of its launch on October 30.
According to MySmartPrice and Twitter tipster Ishan Agarwal, the OnePlus 6T is going to start at Rs 37999 for its 6GB/128GB variant, go up to Rs 40999 for its 8GB/128GB model, and end up at Rs 44999 for its 8GB/256GB option.
OnePlus 6T VS OnePlus 6
There doesn’t appear to be a basic 64GB version of the OnePlus 6T this time around. To recall, the OnePlus 6’s entry-level 6GB/64GB version costs Rs 34999, its 8GB/128GB iteration costs Rs 39999, and its 8GB/256GB configuration costs Rs 43999.
It’s not clear why OnePlus would drop its 64GB storage tier. Interested buyers might have to spend Rs 3000 more if they want the basic 6GB/128GB OnePlus 6T, even if they require half the space. The company has managed to keep sales high in India even as its phones become more premium, so its strategy may just pay off in the long run.
The main reason behind the hike is probably the in-display fingerprint scanner lurking underneath the OnePlus 6T’s screen. The company has sacrificed the headphone jack to make room for the reader and is including a 3.5mm adapter to appease wired users.
If you have every intention of buying the OnePlus 6T and want to save a few bucks, there’s a neat pre-order offer waiting for you here.
