Samsung’s foldable phone isn’t a big mystery anymore now that it’s shown off a prototype of the device on stage. Still, there are plenty of things we don’t know about the product like its price and launch date.

A fresh article from Yonhap News Agency attempts to answer these questions by taking the opinions of industry sources. It seems the so-called Galaxy F is going to come out in March 2019. It might be making its debut alongside the 5G version of the Galaxy S10.

Samsung Foldable Phone Price

As far as official news goes, Samsung Mobile head DJ Koh has said that the firm is going to release its foldable handset in the first half of 2019. The brand’s going to manufacture 1 million units, which is actually pretty less for a company of Samsung’s size.

It seems Samsung is erring on the side of caution because of how expensive and niche the bendable smartphone is going to be. The device might sell for an insane KRW 2 million or about $1770/Rs 128405. The amount will automatically restrict access to a select few who have a strong interest in experimental tech and the cash to pursue it.

Samsung apparently isn’t going to stuff the handset with all the latest technology. It’ll miss out on being 5G compliant. That’s not a total surprise since the network standard is still in its early stages. The firm is still going to try and lure in the 5G crowd with a separate 5G variant of the Galaxy S10.

As per the report, the standard Galaxy S10 trio will be announced in February, probably at the MWC 2019, and the 5G Galaxy S10 in March. The Galaxy F could make an appearance at the MWC, but an official unveiling likely won’t happen until March.
