HMD Global has decided to launch three of its budget phones in India all at once. The Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, and Nokia 5.1 were all unveiled in Russia back in May this year, boasting of pure Android and upgraded specs.
To recall, the Nokia 3.1 actually arrived in India last month. However, HMD Global only brought its 2GB/16GB option at Rs 10499 to the country. The company’s now decided to add a new 3GB/32GB model to the mix, slapping it with a Rs 11999 price tag. Rivals like the Redmi Note 5 notably offer the same capacity at Rs 9999.

Still, Nokia can offer something which its competitors can’t – guaranteed OS updates to future Android versions. That’s because most of its lineup belongs to Google’s Android One program. The Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 are both members. The Nokia 2.1 has taken a left turn into Android Go, the search giant’s specialized software for low-memory devices.
The Nokia 2.1 will be available at Rs 6999 in Grey/Silver, Blue/Silver, and Blue/Copper color options. The Nokia 5.1 is set to sell at Rs 14499 in Copper, Black, and Tempered Blue. The Black shade isn’t going to be around immediately at launch, but HMD Global says it’ll come a few weeks later.
