Xiaomi Redmi S2

Xiaomi has officially released the Redmi S2 in China, putting an end to weeks of rumors which pushed just about everything about the phone out in the open. As expected, it’s a selfie-focused handset which offers a solid mix of budget specs at a low cost.

As for how low that cost is, the Redmi S2 starts at just CNY 999 (roughly Rs 10580) for the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM model and moves up to CNY 1299 (approx Rs 13756) for the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM option. For these prices, you’ll be getting a 16MP selfie camera and a 12MP + 5MP dual rear lens setup.

Both have gotten enhanced with artificial intelligence, as is the norm among Android smartphones these days. The Redmi S2’s 16MP snapper boasts of large 2um pixels which let in more light, allowing you to click brighter photos in low-light environments.
