The OnePlus 6T is out and about after a ton of leaks, but rumors about it haven’t ended just yet. A new report claims the handset is getting a ‘Thunder Purple’ variant soon.
The OnePlus 6T is currently available in Midnight Black and Mirror Black. Clearly, there’s not a lot of choice for someone who wants something other than black. A purple color variant is an interesting choice and offers something a bit different from the red and white options the company has sold before.
Rumors about this Thunder Purple variant started when tipster Ishan Agarwal found a listing for the color on OnePlus’ official Indian support page. The name has since been deleted, but screengrabs prove it was real. Moreover, Amazon Germany listed a Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T on its site a few days ago.
As per the retailer, the purple OnePlus device will be available for pre-orders on November 30. This means the model should be announced before the month is out. As per leaked photos found by Mr Gizmo and Ishan Agarwal, it looks like the brand is taking more of a gradient approach with the color, allowing it to vary between violet, lilac and pink.
It’s not unlike sister company Oppo’s Starry Purple F9 Pro in that regard. The Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T is apparently going to be sold only in an 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM variant. The option sells for Rs 41999 in India and $579 in the US. It’ll probably stick to the same price tag when and if it arrives in purple, unless the company adds something special to the mix.
