HMD Global’s next big event is set to arrive on October 4 and everyone has their eyes on the Nokia 7.1 Plus as a possible candidate for release. A handset going by the name Nokia TA-1131 has now appeared on TENAA, with many guessing it to be the aforementioned smartphone.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus is probably going to be launched as the Nokia X7 in China. The former will be part of the Android One program, while the latter will get a skinned version of Android 8.1 Oreo. The attached images indicate that the phone has a prominent notch at the front.
Nokia 7.1 Plus Specs and Faetaures
The back is adorned by a protruding dual-camera setup and a fingerprint scanner. It appears to be a new brown color variant. Other options listed on TENAA include blue, red and silver. The battery appears to be a 3400mAh powerhouse. It’ll be providing energy to the Nokia phone’s 2.2GHz octa-core processor, most likely the Snapdragon 710.
The screen is a fairly large 6.18-inch panel, blessed with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. Photography-wise, the Nokia 7.1 Plus might get equipped with a 13MP + 12MP combination. The selfie snapper could be a 20MP lens. Bothies will probably be around as a feature, along with any other camera tricks the company can come up with.
It seems the Nokia device will measure 154.8 x 75.76 x 7.97mm and weigh in at 185g. The smartphone may be sold in two variants. One might be a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM version and the other a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM option.
Interestingly, the usually reliable tipster Roland Quandt recently tweeted that a smartphone called the Nokia 7.1 is arriving in blue and steel choices in a 4GB/64GB model priced at EUR 399 (roughly Rs 33748). There’s notably no Plus in its name.
Either the Nokia 7.1 Plus has been the Nokia 7.1 all along or HMD Global has two handset releases planned on October 4. We’ll get to the bottom of the matter come Thursday.
