Nokia 7 goes official with Bothies, 6GB RAM

Nokia 7

HMD Global’s officially outed the Nokia 7 in China, laying to rest rumors that have been swirling around the handset. The phone comes across as a much more affordable version of the Nokia 8, ditching the dual-camera design and employing a mid-range Snapdragon 630 SoC in the process.

One thing both handsets have in common is Nokia’s new Bothie feature. The tool makes use of the 5MP front and 16MP rear camera simultaneously. It then places the videos or photos shot next to each other. As before, the concern here is quality since the main snapper will presumably output better-looking images and videos than the other.

The Nokia 7’s 16MP Zeiss primary shooter is capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps and utilizes OZO audio to capture 360-degree high-fidelity sound. It also offers up 1.12um pixels, an aperture of f/1.8, and dual-tone LED flash. The selfie lens gets its hands on 1.4um pixels, an aperture of f/2.0, and an 84-degree field-of-view.
