Moto Z2 Leak

There has been a steady outpouring of Motorola leaks over the past few weeks, culminating in a presentation slide which gave away details about its entire 2017 lineup. One model that’s been conspicuously absent from all this is the Moto Z2.

So far, all we know for sure about the Moto Z2 is its name. The moniker was leaked out by tipster Evan Blass earlier this year with few accompanying details. Android Authority has now gotten its hands on what could possibly be the first proper look at the device, sourced from someone familiar with Lenovo’s plans.

At first glance, the Moto Z2 seen in the photo looks very akin to the Moto Z2 Play, complete with a similar oval home button, sensor placements, and buttons. There’s even a dual-LED flash module to the top left. 2016’s Moto Z and Moto Z Play looked quite different from each other, with the latter being considerably thicker.

All-in-all, Motorola seems to be going for a more homogenous approach for its Z series this year. Other than the Z2 and Z2 Play, the company is also set to announce the Moto Z2 Force with ShatterShield credentials.

Unfortunately, the Moto Z2 render above isn’t accompanied by any specifications. Rumors in the past suggest that it’ll feature Moto Mods support, 4GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 835 processor, Gigabit Class LTE speeds, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Motorola’s Z lineup will probably make its debut on June 8. We’ll fill you in on any developments till then.
