Samsung’s added 2 new entries to its mid-range J series in India in the form of the Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max. The former is priced at Rs 20900, while the latter will be available at Rs 17900.

The Galaxy J7 Pro is more or less the Indian equivalent of the Galaxy J7 (2017) which was launched earlier this month, with the only major difference being its larger 64GB storage capacity. On the other hand, the all-metal Galaxy J7 Max can be considered the spiritual successor to the Galaxy J2 (2016) thanks to the presence of a Smart Glow notification ring around its camera’s neck.

Samsung’s latest phones have both been blessed with a 13MP f/1.9 front and 13MP f/1.7 rear shooter. The two also have a new Social Camera tool in common. The feature allows users to pin contacts inside the camera itself, letting them instantly share photos with friends via Facebook or WhatsApp. There are also a number of live filters and live stickers to experiment with.

Samsung is also touting an instant discovery feature that uses the augmented reality camera to help people discover restaurants and popular photography spots just by pointing at them. A Geo Like function serves as a geo-tagging tool to drop location-based hearts onto photos.

The Galaxy J7 Pro notably comes with support for Samsung Pay, a feature normally restricted to the brand’s high-end offerings. The Galaxy J7 Max ships with the simpler Samsung Pay Mini. The software is a stripped-down version of the full-fledged software, restricting itself to UPI and e-wallets.
