Asus has announced price cuts for its ZenFone 3 series of handsets in India, concentrating on the ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Max. Overall, 5 of the brand’s smartphones have gotten cheaper in the country.
No reason has been given for the markdowns. It could be because of the recent GST rollout, much like how Apple officially discounted most of its products after the new regime came into place. Another theory is that Asus wants to make its ZenFone 3 portfolio a bit more affordable ahead of the ZenFone 4 lineup’s launch this month.
Getting down to business, the 5.5-inch ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) has gone from costing Rs 19999 to Rs 16999, a Rs 3000 drop. The 5.2-inch ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) has fallen by Rs 2000 and is now selling at Rs 15999.
As for the 5.5-inch ZenFone 3 Max (ZC553KL), Asus has slashed its rate from Rs 15999 to Rs 14999. The 5.2-inch ZenFone 3 Max (ZC520TL) and ZenFone 3S Max (ZC521TL) have gotten a bigger Rs 2000 cut down to Rs 10999 and Rs 12999, respectively.
The drops in costs may help the ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Max compete better in the cut-throat affordable market sector in India. The former notably hit the country at Rs 27999 back in August 2016 and got a discount down to Rs 19999 in May 2017.
Asus’ cuts will be live across offline and online retailers such as Amazon India, Snapdeal, and Flipkart. The sites don’t appear to have implemented them as yet, so you might have to wait a while for this to change. You can also try your luck at the company’s own Exclusive Stores.
