Asus ZenFone Max gets updated with Snapdragon 615 and other additions [Video]

A 2016 model of the Asus ZenFone Max is out now, and it comes with a few upgrades over its predecessor. Firstly, this device abandons the Snapdragon 410 chipset of the previous model, and opts for a more powerful Snapdragon 615 SoC.

It also receives a memory bump moreover. We are looking at not one but two separate models of the Asus ZenFone Max here, as a 2GB RAM variant will be sold at Rs 9999, whereas a 3GB version will be made available at Rs 12999. Both these phones will ship with 32GB of storage and a microSD card slot.

Another big addition is that the upgraded ZenFone Max comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed. All the other features of this device remain the same. We’re still getting a 5.5-inch 720p HD display on the front and a leather textured plate on its rear.

The camera setup includes a 13MP laser autofocus rear camera and a 5MP selfie snapper. As for the battery, the massive 5000mAh unit which is the main selling point of the ZenFone Max guarantees extremely long usage times. This large battery also enables the handsets to act as a power bank for charging other devices.

The new Asus ZenFone Max is available for pre-order now via Flipkart at Rs 9999 or Rs 12999, depending upon the model you choose. As for the last-gen variant, it has received a price drop that has brought its retail value down to Rs 8999.
