Samsung Galaxy S7 series leak confirms waterproofing

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Waterproof

Samsung Indonesia has accidentally leaked a video and teaser page of the Galaxy S7 series ahead of its official launch on February 21. The phone has been the subject of numerous rumors over the past few months and these new leaks confirm a number of features which have been hinted at before.

The video is probably the best look at the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which has been uncovered so far. It depicts an Indonesian woman in the midst of a workout session wirelessly charging the handset and later using it in the rain. The first appears to back up claims of fast charging abilities which fuel the handset from 0 to 80% within 30 minutes.

The second leads further credence to reports of the Galaxy S7 series being waterproof. The company has reportedly blessed it with IP68 certification for protection from dust and water. The phone which is shown in the video lines up with what we’ve seen of the Edge variant of the upcoming flagship previously.

The Samsung Indonesia page, as spotted by Phone Probe, verifies the name Galaxy S7 and teases various aspect of the phone. One image hints at enhanced privacy and another is captioned with the phrase ‘bring light into the night’. This is a clear indication of the smartphone’s improved low-light photography abilities.

The new information doesn’t give away much in terms of specs, but earlier speculation had pointed towards a 12MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.7 to let in more light. Stay tuned for official confirmation of these features on February 21 when the Samsung Galaxy S7 finally makes its debut at the MWC in Barcelona.
