OnePlus 3 image leak reveals new design, shutter button

OnePlus 3 Leak

Just a few weeks after the OnePlus 3 was confirmed by the company’s CEO, a new leak has revealed a number of images of the phone. The photos indicate a drastically different design language for the upcoming handset and the addition of a dedicated shutter button.

To recap what we know so far, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei has declared that the OnePlus 3 is coming by the end of the second quarter, which translates to a potential June launch date. He also mentioned that the phone would flaunt a fresh design. This statement lends some credence to the newly leaked snaps since it looks very different from the brand’s current flagship.

Based on the pictures posted by Mobile-Dad, the OnePlus 3 sports a slim design and carries a curved glass screen with extremely narrow bezels. There’s a fairly large speaker unit located above the selfie snapper and a physical home button at the bottom. GizmoChina thinks the handset may offer an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner courtesy the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 820 processor.

The images of the OnePlus phone which have gotten leaked further point towards USB Type-C connectivity, a power/lock slider key, a volume rocker and a camera button. The last may allow users to control a 20MP shooter which looks like it will be accompanied by dual-LED flash. Other potential specs include a 5.5-inch full HD screen and 4GB of RAM.

One question on everyone’s minds is whether OnePlus is going to get rid of the dreaded invite system once and for all with its fourth offering. While Pei hasn’t gone ahead and announced this, he did say the OnePlus 3 would be promoted through traditional marketing techniques. The CEO further stated that the handset would be sold unlocked in the US.

Stay tuned for more on the OnePlus 3. Rumors are bound to keep leaking until its anticipated June 2016 unveiling.
