In a double whammy for other carriers in the UK, EE has served up two big surprises for customers from the said territory. It has revealed a new LTE-capable smartphone named Kestrel which carries a price tag of just £100. And moreover, the carrier has also made available the country’s cheapest entry-level 4G LTE tariff along with other new plans.
EE Kestrel handset
This fresh smartphone has been manufactured by Huawei and it of course possesses the Android OS. It’s the 4.3 Jelly Bean version that we’re talking about here. The device houses a 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB worth of RAM. There’s 8 gigs of storage to be availed of, along with support for microSD.
As revealed by Engadget, the new Kestrel handset from EE comes equipped with a 4.5-inch display offering a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. A 2000mAh battery keeps it going between charges, while its imaging needs are satisfied by a 5MP rear shooter and a 1MP webcam.
New 4G Plans
UK’s cheapest 4G LTE plan is being offered by EE at the moment in the form of its £14 per month deal which nets you 500 minutes, 500MB of data and unlimited texts. With this plan and a contract of two years, you can get the Kestrel handset free of cost.
Otherwise, the EE Kestrel smartphone will cost you £100 which too is a pretty good deal if you ask us.
