Intex Aqua T2 is dubbed the cheapest Android KitKat handset, costs Rs 2699

The cheapest Android smartphones so far have been selling at Rs 2999, but Intex has brought the price down even more to Rs 2699 with its Aqua T2. Like most of the other devices in this ultra affordable segment, the new release also comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and it offers some pretty decent features at the said price.

The Intex Aqua T2 handset has a very simple design and it delivers a 3.5-inch display with HVGA resolution. The phone also packs dual cameras, 2MP rear with LED flash and VGA front. If that’s not enough, a 1.3GHz dual core MediaTek MT6571 CPU does the heavy lifting.

Memory provisions are as basic as it can get with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of storage. A microSD card slot is also onboard with support for up to 32GB of additional space. Apart from these attributes, there are dual SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1300mAh power pack.

While the Aqua T2 may be the most budget-friendly in the Android ecosystem, it certainly isn’t the cheapest smartphone from the OEM. Back in August, it launched the Cloud FX which was tagged at just Rs 1999. The company also recently released the Aqua 4X which costs Rs 2999 and offers slightly better components such as a 4-inch WVGA display and 3G connectivity amongst others.
