Oppo Neo mid-range phone unveiled in India for Rs 11,990

Oppo, the Chinese manufacturer which recently introduced the N1 with the swiveling camera in India, has bounced back to the country with the Oppo Neo, a mid-range device that doesn’t break the bank. The smartphone was released in Indonesia in mid-January, priced at approximately $219.

Dual SIM card slots have been carved into the gadget’s exterior and it should arrive drenched in shades of black and white. You can expect a 4.5-inch touchscreen with the phone and this IPS LCD display is said to have a resolution of 854 x 400 pixels. It allows you to make video calls using a 2MP webcam and capture high quality images as well as videos with the help of the rear facing 5MP camera.

The proprietary ColorOS which is built on top of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 platform is responsible for providing an intuitive interface to the Oppo Neo. Within the confines of the chassis with dimensions of 132 x 65.8 x 9.2 millimeters, you will find a dual core processor sprinting at 1.3GHz.

This chipset is accompanied by 512MB of RAM and a 1900mAh battery has also been tossed into the mix. Its 4GB onboard memory can easily be expanded by up to 32GB with a little assistance from a microSD card. The smartphone is compatible with 3G networks and features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and more have been added to the mix as well.
