Three HTC One price and release date in UK revealed, now up for pre-order

HTC One

The HTC One release date for the UK is March 15 and the device is available to pre-order via Three and carries a price tag of £480 on Pay As You Go. Even with the £15 value add-on this comes to £495, as opposed to Clove’s £510 we saw pop up a few days ago. The phone itself is making headlines in various regions with its high-end specs and its fresh take on sharing and accessing content.

The device comes with a Jelly Bean platform that has been enhanced with a new Sense UI. A 1080p full HD display with 4.7 inches of screen real estate brings visuals to life, while an Ultrapixel camera manages to wriggle its way onto the gadget. This brings a new perspective to pictures with the company’s Zoe feature, turning stills into three-second snippets.

Features

A quad core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip keeps things zippy, and the 2GB of DDR2 RAM definitely helps the cause. The phone itself comes in two internal storage variants (32GB and 64GB), but the carrier in question is only offering the smaller storage model for now. There’s also a 2.1MP front-facing snapper and an upgraded version of the OEM’s dedicated imaging chip.

The handset gets a 2,300mAh Li-polymer battery as a power core but usage stats haven’t been provided. Connectivity options include the regular Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX and Wi-Fi, and there’s also LTE, NFC and DLNA. The device itself weighs 143 grams and is just over 9mm thick, but what should captivate users for a long time to come are its enhancements, BlinkFeed and BoomSound.

Black And White

The One can be pre-ordered on Three with a £69 down payment and for as little as £34 a month on the Ultimate Internet 500 plan. There’s also The One Plan with all-you-can-eat data at £36 every month with the same down payment.
