Moto X hits a new low price of just $99 on contract through Best Buy

US residents, rejoice, the most customizable smartphone available in the market, the Moto X, is now available for purchase at just $99 when signing up for a new 2-year contract. The discounted price is being offered through Best Buy and it’s applicable on carrier versions of the phone from Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.

The price cut for the Moto X comes as no surprise since the reduction was leaked by none other than @evleaks. The handset is now available at 50% off which is quite a steep drop. While this involves signing up for a 2-year agreement, you can get the smartphone off-contract for $299 through Republic Wireless where the carrier says it will be ‘footing the bill.’

The Moto X is the company’s flagship and it runs on Android 4.2. Just last week, a software update for the handset was announced for a couple of carriers. It brings various improvements to the Touchless Control feature and enhanced camera performance. According to @evleaks, the wooden version of the device which costs $50 more should also be available soon.

The handset is powered by a custom designed processor which includes a dual core Snapdragon S4 Pro and a quad core Adreno 320 GPU. Visuals are delivered through a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen and there’s a 10MP camera on the rear to capture images and record videos. Motorola is also said to be working on a cheaper version of the smartphone dubbed DVX.

You can grab the Moto X through Best Buy for $99 or you could wait a bit longer and pickup a wooden version of the smartphone for an additional charge of $50.
