It seems like the rumors that we’ve been hearing about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 US launch date speculated to fall on October 24, are true as the South Korean manufacturer has sent out invites urging receivers to save this date. It doesn’t mention that the event has anything to do with the latest phablet, but the image of a stylus manages to give it away.
The guys over at CNET are also confident that the invite they received is for the event to be held for unveiling the next generation smartphone-tablet hybrid device. Apparently, some major retailers in the US like Verizon Wireless and AT&T are expected to stock up on the phone, while Sprint and T-Mobile have already announced its arrival. U.S. Cellular has gone as far as to reveal that it will start selling the Note 2 in October.
This 4G LTE-enabled slab will treat users to the Android Jelly Bean platform and will be available in variants with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. Resting snugly under the hood, is a 1.6GHz quad core Exynos processor and a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display graces the front panel. The second generation Note’s specification list also features an 8MP primary camera with auto focus, LED flash and a BSI sensor as well as a 1.9MP front-mounted webcam.
While the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 US release date is supposedly October 24, it will debut in the UK on October 1. The device’s 16GB version’s price through U.S. Cellular is $299.99 and that in India is tagged at Rs. 39,900.
