With the Intex Aqua 4.0 3G, the company in question has set its foot in the smartphone segment in India. Five more models belonging to the series are expected to follow the affordably priced Gingerbread device into the country, before the end of this quarter.
The dual SIM phone is based on the Android 2.3.5 platform and acquires multitasking properties from an 800MHz processor that sits under the hood. Its front panel is dominated by a 480 x 320p 3.5-inch 2-point capacitive touchscreen as well as a 0.3MP webcam for video calling purposes. The flip side of the smartphone sports a 3MP camera for capturing still shots and videos on the move.
“We have been in the mobile business from the last five years and hence offering smartphones is a natural progression in growing our product portfolio in the country. Aqua 4.0 is one such offering which has a host of bundled applications and features that make it an ideal choice at a pocket-friendly price for youngsters. Spurred by the market demand, Intex is planning to launch 5 new models of smartphones in the next few months,” quoted Sanjay Kumar, GM- Mobile Business, Intex India.
Featuring an expansion slot for a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity, it is deployed with proximity, light and G sensors. The 3G-, Bluetooth- and Wi-Fi-enabled device comes with built-in FM and is accompanied by a 1400mAh battery. It coughs up the juice for talk time of about 3 hours. The handset is pre-loaded with games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Talking Tom and more.
The Intex Aqua 4.0 3G is can now be purchased for Rs. 5,490 through authorized resellers.
