TeleNav’s popular location based TeleNav GPS Navigator service has now been introduced for the T-Mobile G1 mobile phone. Loaded with many advanced functionalities, the service will transform a user’s G1 phone into a complete handheld navigation device.
With an ability to offer full color nationwide 3D maps, the TeleNav GPS Navigator can deliver turn-by-turn driving directions by both voice and onscreen.
Boasting of a business directory that comprises of more than 10 million points of interest, the navigator service will also allow G1 users to receive Audio traffic alerts and one-click rerouting.
The navigator additionally supports speech recognition. The feature will allow users of the Google Android smartphone to simply press a button for address or business directions. The TeleNav device will then direct the user to the expected destination. Besides users can also preplan trips and have them sent to their phone through the TeleNav website.
The TeleNav GPS Navigator service for the T-Mobile G1 phone is expected to start from February 24, 2009. Initially the service will be offered only through the TeleNav website.
While the service will cost around $9.99 per month for unlimited use, users can sign up for a 30-day free trial of the service through the TeleNav website.
