Social networking site MySpace and mobile transaction network mBlox have joined hands to offer MySpace’s text message alert program in the US. This service provides users with near real-time notification of new messages, friend requests, comments and other activities within their MySpace profiles.
As of now, the MySpace text message alert service is available on US wireless service providers like Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile USA, Alltel Wireless, US Cellular and Virgin Mobile USA.
Brandon Lucas, senior director of mobile business development, MySpace said, “MySpace users have come to depend on our text message alerts for instant notification when family and friends reach out to them on MySpace.”
“This partnership with mBlox brings us a step closer to fulfilling our vision of empowering MySpace users to stay connected with their community wherever they are, whenever they like,” added Lucas.
MySpace users can register for MySpace text lessage alerts by logging into http://www.myspace.com.
Only recently, MySpace has unveiled its MySpace Mobile Web site. Now, this service will only augment the social networking site’s presence in the virtual as well as mobile space.
