Tata Teleservices launches Samsung Explore handset with Mobile Internet

Samsung Explore handset Tata Teleservices has joined hands with Samsung India to introduce India’s very first Mobile Web Browser. The CDMA player’s services have been incorporated in a slim ‘Samsung Explore’ handset, which is completely optimized for mobile internet.

Speaking at the launch, Suneel Bandhu, circle operating officer, Tata Teleservices Ltd, Gujarat, said that browser bundles the Qualcomm Single Chip, therefore giving the device the ability to offer mobile users internet access at a 3-4 times faster speed than GPRS, along with access to all websites “anytime on the move.”

The other significant features available in the Samsung Explore handset are:

  • 0.3 MP camera
  • Expandable memory card slot upto 1GB
  • MP3 player
  • FM with one-time auto tune
  • Speaker phone
  • Samsung’s security features of mobile tracker and emergency SOS alert
  • In addition, the device features a ‘Go Active’ connection that provides incoming facility for a year and free 1,000 – minutes Tata-to-Tata calls at no extra cost. What’s more, the user has the option to choose their own tariff plan from a variety of plans.

    The Samsung Explore handset comes for Rs. 5,499. As an introductory offer, Tata Teleservices has priced the Internet services at Rs 10 for one day, Rs 30 for a week and Rs 99 for a month, with unlimited Internet access.
