Bharti Airtel and ESPN Mobile tie-up to offer FIFA World Cup 2006 Info in India

FIFA World Cup 2006 with Airtel and ESPN Mobile logo Bharti Airtel has joined hands with ESPN Mobile, Singapore to distribute in India the value-added services for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2006 to be held in Germany, in June. Following the tie-up, Airtel subscribers in India will now have the freedom to access information on, and follow football matches to be played at the FIFA World Cup 2006.

Airtel subscribers will now be able to download football games, wallpapers, ringtones, and video clips on their mobiles, on payment of Rs 10, Rs 15, and Rs 30 respectively, and payment ranging between Rs 50 and Rs 99 for games.

From June 9, 2006, Airtel subscribers all over the country will be able to get two-and-a-half-minute preview clips on every World Cup 2006 match to be played till July 9, 2006. These will include match analysis and predictions, highlights, and team news. Customers will also be able to opt for an entire World Cup package for Rs 99, which will include goal alerts, match updates, and match fixtures.

Airtel will take Soccer to the streets of Kolkata, during the World Cup, with road shows which will include moving screens on trucks, telecasting the matches live. Giant screens will be put up in public places like shopping malls, where soccer fans can enjoy the matches while they move about. Airtel will also tie-up with pubs and colleges in Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi to air live telecasts of the matches.
