Microsoft made two important announcements regarding Xbox 360 console at E3. As expected the company has dropped the price of 20 GB model by $50. The 20 GB Xbox 360 will now be available for the price of US $299 in US and Canada. Another important announcement was the entry of the new model of the console.
Gamers can now purchase the new 60 GB version of the 360 console for just US $349. The latest version of the console will be made available from August 2008.
“We know consumers need more and more space to store the amazing digital content Xbox 360 offers, and we’re giving it to them at no extra charge,” said Albert Penello, Xbox director of product management at Microsoft. “No one device offers the depth and breadth of entertainment that Xbox 360 can deliver, and now you’ll have three times the storage to manage all that great content.”
The 20 GB Xbox 360 will be available only till the stock lasts. As for the Xbox 360 Arcade it will continue to sell for $279 and the Xbox 360 Elite console will cost the same as before at $449.
