Two flagship softwares developed by Adobe Systems Inc., have now been licensed by Microsoft. Adobe Flash Lite, which is the company’s award-winning Flash Player runtime exclusively built for mobile devices, that allows web browsing of Flash Player compatible content within the Internet Explorer Mobile browser in future versions of Microsoft Windows Mobile phones; and the Adobe Reader LE software which enables viewing Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) documents including email attachments and web content, will now carry the “Licensed by Microsoft” tag on them.
John O’Rourke, general manager, Mobile Communications Business at Microsoft Corp. said, “People want vibrant web experiences and access to entertainment and information anywhere, anytime.” Adding, “Bringing Flash Lite and Reader LE to the Windows Mobile experience will give consumers more of their favorite websites on the go.”
With the innovative Flash Lite 3.x browser plug-in for Internet Explorer Mobile on Windows Mobile, users will be able to gain access to rich and interactive internet content created using Adobe Flash technology. Adobe Flash can control several rich and engaging websites, applications and animations. With Adobe Reader LE, Windows Mobile users can effortlessly and consistently view and navigate rich PDF content using interesting features developed to enhance document readability on smaller screens.

Adobe Flash Lite and Reader LE will be made available to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) across the globe, who license Windows Mobile software.
Meanwhile, a few days back Microsoft announced a mobile version of Silverlight which would not be out until later this year.
