Nokia’s Asha feature phones really did take off in India, but Microsoft has already moved beyond that and discontinued the series. Well, a lot of people are still holding onto their devices and the Redmond company wants you to upgrade so much that it’s willing to give you up to Rs 1500 off on the Lumia 435 in exchange of your aged Nokia handset.
Microsoft is basically calling this promo ‘smart exchange’ and will be offering it on the Lumia 435 until April 15. For devices in the Asha 500 series, users will get a nice Rs 1500 discount, while those with handsets from the Asha 300 range will be treated to a lesser Rs 1000 sum. Also, the reduction will be applied to the MRP of the said WP8.1 handset.
This basically means that you’ll be able to get the Lumia 435 for as low as Rs 4499 after deducting Rs 1500 from the phone’s Rs 5999 retail tag. What’s interesting is that Microsoft is currently selling the device at around Rs 5800 while ecommerce websites have it listed for even lower. Nevertheless, it still makes sense using the smart exchange offer as you do get quite a good value for the old Asha handsets.
The Lumia 435 is the most affordable handset you can get in the Lumia lineup and it’s also the lowest-end offering in the sries. Nevertheless, it will still get updated to the new Windows 10 OS and it does offer some pretty decent features.
Microsoft Lumia 435 specs:
– Windows Phone 8.1
– Dual core Snapdragon 200 SOC
– 1GB RAM
– 8GB internal storage, 128GB expandable
– Dual SIM card slots
– 4-inch WVGA LCD
– 1560mAh battery
– VGA rear camera, 2MP front imager
The Microsoft Lumia 435 smart exchange offer is already live for Asha owners and the promo could end ahead of its April 15 deadline as it’s subject to stock availability.
