Microsoft’s Garage project under which employees let their imaginations loose and come up with new ideas, has introduced a new app named Invite. This utility has been aimed by its makers towards letting users easily organize meetings via their smartphones.
Invite is currently only available in the US and Canada, and that too, just for iOS devices. However, Microsoft will soon be expanding its availability to more countries, and will even be bringing it to Windows Phone and Android platforms.
Businessmen who regularly need to organize meetings have to go through a lot of calling and messaging the potential attendees to get their plans in motion, as they are not able to see the calendars of those outside their organization. This is where Invite steps with its facility to let everyone sort of vote for the best time to hold the meeting at.
You can use this app to choose a set of suggested times for the meeting. You then send them to those who will be attending it. If they’re using the app as well, they’ll receive a notification, and if they’re not, they will get an email. They can now choose the times that work for each of them.
This way, you know exactly what time works for most of the people. With Invite, you can finalize the best suited time and tap the ‘Send Calendar Invites’ button in order to get the event on their calendars. The app works with any email account – Outlook, Gmail and Yahoo Mail are of course supported – but it has been revealed to work best with Office 365 business and school subscriptions.

Microsoft Invite can be downloaded now by iOS users in the US and Canada through the Apple App Store. Like we said, its availability will be expanded in the near future.
