Microsoft Bringing its Surface Pro 4 Tablet to India

Microsoft is ringing in the New Year by launching the Surface Pro 4 in India within the first week of January. This is the first time the popular tablet series will be unleashed in the nation.

To recall, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 was internationally launched in October this year. While the company’s CEO Satya Nadella had previously announced that the device would be unveiled in India by January, he did not disclose an official date for its arrival.

Microsoft’s India Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik has now gone ahead and confirmed to Gadgets 360 that the Surface Pro 4 will be released in the country within the first week of January. The site speculates the brand will pull the curtains off the gadget at an event in New Delhi on January 7.

The Surface Pro 4 ships with an improved Surface Pen which possesses over 1024 pressure points and even has an eraser button. Its 12.3-inch screen comes equipped with Gorilla Glass 4 and Palm Block technology, allowing users to rest their hands on the screen without interrupting their work.

Pramanik did not confirm the price of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 in India. It starts at $899 (about Rs 59360) in the US for the basic unit which includes 128GB of SSD storage, an Intel Core m3 processor and 4GB of RAM. We’ll keep you updated on the cost when the tablet hits India this January.
