Microsoft has announced that it will be holding a Surface event on May 20, but has shied away from telling us what it’ll be all about. With all these recent leaks and speculations on the Internet, it won’t take a genius to guess that the Surface Mini tablet is all set to be unveiled formally.
Invitations for the gala have been sent out to the press by the Redmond giant, and there’s a clue in it as well. As revealed by The Verge, Microsoft has called this event a ‘small’ gathering which points one more finger towards the possibility of a Mini version of its slate being ready to be unveiled there.
Despite hearing about the tablet unofficially a number of times, there are still plenty of things we don’t know about it. For instance, there have been reports about both 7-inch and 8-inch screen sizes existing, but a recent leak only showcased a cover and a Bluetooth keyboard for the latter sized model.
A while ago, there was speculation that the Surface Mini will be positioned as a note-taking device rather than a powerful tablet. This means it could feature Wacom stylus capabilities, but nothing to corroborate these claims has emerged so far.
It’ll therefore be interesting to see what the Microsoft Surface Mini will be able to whip up. Stay tuned until May 20, because we’ll be bringing you all that will be revealed at this ‘small’ event.
