Micromax has designed a new smartphone for the selfie-obsessed and it has even aptly named the device, the Canvas Selfie. While most affordable releases in this category offer 5MP or 8MP front snappers, the latest addition from the Indian OEM takes things up a level.
The Micromax Canvas Selfie comes with not one, but dual 13MP cameras. The snapper on the rear, which has a pretty huge housing, features a Sony sensor with dual LED flash, while the one on the front has a single LED flash and is probably a fixed-focus imager. And complementing the high resolution cameras are software enhancements to deliver better selfies.
They include skin smoothening, teeth whitening, face slimming and other effects. Design-wise, the Micromax phone is one of the best looking launches from the company. The top and bottom have arc designs much like Sony’s Xperia neo V lineup and the company has gone for a faux leather finish on the rear with a stitch design running along the sides.
The front panel is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection to the 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS display. On the inside, a 1.7GHz octa core processor is employed along with 2GB of RAM. And for storage, there’s 16GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot which supports up to 32GB. The phone is also dual SIM enabled and it accepts nano cards only.
