Micromax was in the news having release plans for the A110Q Canvas 2 Plus in India and now it has not only gone forth to confirm this, but also spilled out the smartphone’s price. Successor to the 5-inch dual core handset which had received initial recognition in the month of November last year, the device in question has been graced with an MRP of Rs 12,100.
Although the Micromax Canvas 2 Plus still holds onto certain characteristics of its older sibling that shows off a Rs 10,000 tag, it has many fresh features to offer as well. For starters, it comes with a 1.2GHz MT6589 processor which accommodates four cores, justifying the practice of attaching the ‘Q’ in its model number.
Android fans may be delighted to know that the Canvas 2 Plus, very much unlike its predecessor, bags the latest version of the Jelly Bean OS. What it indeed shares with its dual core avatar is the screen. A similar 5-inch IPS touch display peddling a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels has been posted on the handset’s face.
The OEM has repeated the act of positioning an 8MP camera on the phone’s rear panel, but instead of a VGA webcam, it has rendered the recent iteration with a 2MP lens. If we were to take the manufacturer’s word seriously, the integrated 2,000mAh battery should be able to provide up to 6 hours of talk time or 280 hours of standby.
Out of the 4GB internal memory, A110Q users will be exposed to 1GB of space available to fulfill their storage needs. We wouldn’t blame anyone if this capacity happens to fall short, but the Micromax has attempted to compensate for this by embedding on the handset, an expansion slot which can be compatible with a microSD card of up to 32GB.
Loyalists around the country should note that the Micromax Canvas 2 Plus hasn’t struck any online retail store so far and can be ordered solely through the official website. Potential buyers can also take a look at the company’s other recent offerings like the Doodle A111 and Music A88, just to weigh their options.
