The MetroPCS Huawei Activa 4G is the next addition to the portfolio of the carrier that does not bind customers with contracts while they experience 4G LTE network speed. The handset in question also happens to be the manufacture’s first 4G LTE device to enter the US.
This affordably priced phone is based on the Android Gingerbread platform and acquires multitasking properties from an 800MHz processor. The front panel of the Huawei device flaunts a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen along with a VGA webcam to facilitate video calling on the move. A 5MP primary snapper graces the rear side and possesses attributes like single LED flash and video recording capabilities amongst others.
“MetroPCS is committed to bringing 4G LTE handsets to consumers with a range of price points and features to ensure that 4G LTE is available to everyone and offers the experience that is right for them. The addition of Huawei as a new 4G LTE handset provider is a great step for us as we continue to expand our portfolio of affordable, feature-rich 4G LTE devices at an exceptional value,” quoted Tom Keys, president and chief operating officer of MetroPCS.
The handset with dimensions of 4.8 x 2.42 x 0.42 inches, tips the scale at 4.93oz. Although it ships with only 151MB of onboard memory, users have an option to expand storage using a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. This Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled smartphone draws power from a 1880mAh battery that claims to cough up the juice for talk time of close to 3.3 hours.
The MetroPCS Huawei Activa 4G price is tagged at $249, but for a limited time, the carrier will be selling the device with instant and mail-in rebate for $149, without a contract.
