Meet Lily, a compact drone camera that wants to replace your pet dog

Drone cameras have been around since quite some time now, but Lily is a new entry to the category and it brings something quite unique with it. It possesses the ability to follow you around wherever you are going, thus emulating your pet dog.

This ultra-portable product jumps into action the moment you hurl it into the air. It’s capable of shooing 1080p full HD videos at 60fps and 720p HD videos at 120fps. Additionally, Lily can also be used to click 12MP photographs.

What’s interesting is that this gadget also happens to be waterproof. As shown in the video, you’ll be able to capture your kayaking adventures without worrying about it dropping into the water. However, one limitation of Lily is that it offers just 20 minutes of battery life on a full charge.

It’s capable of flying to a height of up to 50 feet and at speeds of up to 40kmph. Lily follows you with the help of a tracking device that you need to have on you at all times. Its makers are also providing a waterproof wrist band to house this tracking gadget safely.

While 4GB of storage is provided to it by default, the device even carries onboard a microSD card slot for storing your captured videos and photographs. Its other components include an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, GPS and front and bottom facing cameras. Image stabilization and live feed on smartphones are two other important features that the drone camera comes equipped with.

Lily Device

Lily can currently be pre-ordered now through its official website at $499. It will be delivered whenever its makers are able to fund its development through its pre-orders. International shipping is available for it as well.
