A number of Xiaomi handsets have already received MIUI 7, but this version of the ROM sadly runs on the Lollipop version of Android. The Chinese company however has confirmed now that at least the Mi 4 and the Mi Note handsets will soon be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The first question that arises is whether this software will bring with it a new version of MIUI or not. The answer is no. The MIUI version will remain tied at 7, with only the base software switching from Lollipop to Marshmallow. This was also the case when the switch from KitKat to Lollipop happened for the ROM.
