We’re almost at the end of August, which means Apple is probably getting ready to send out invites for its big September event. German publication Macerkopf has now revealed just when the new iPhones will be going up for pre-orders.

As per two German carriers, the 5.8-inch iPhone X (2018), 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus, and 6.1-inch iPhone 9 will be available for pre-orders on September 14. Apple usually likes to announce its goods a few days prior to bookings, leading some to predict that the brand will launch its new iPhones on September 12.

2018 iPhone Prices

Last year’s iPhones got unveiled on September 12 as well. Going by past patterns, Apple will probably start selling the handsets a week later on September 21 in stores and online. Prices are expected to start at $699 for the iPhone 9, $899 for the iPhone X (2018), and $999 for the iPhone X Plus.

You might have noticed the costs are a bit lower than last year, with the OLED iPhone X (2018) becoming $100 cheaper. Apple has apparently woken up to the fact that people don’t want to pay $999 for a 5.8-inch smartphone, as evidenced by average sales in 2017.

On the other hand, folks might be willing to pay $999 for a massive 6.5-inch OLED device which also boasts of dual-SIM support. Then there’s the outlier, the 6.1-inch iPhone 9. Its $699 cost is ideal for consumers who don’t want to go beyond what they usually spend on an iPhone.

They’ll gain a minimal bezel design and Face ID, but have to deal with an LCD screen and no 3D Touch. Some say the iPhone 9 will gain dual-SIM support as well.

Apple might go about doing this by introducing virtual eSIMs into its iPhones. Only China may get two physical SIM card slots since Apple SIMs aren’t available there.
