The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are currently open for pre-orders in countries like the US, but there’s no official pre-order date in place for markets like India. All Apple has said is that the handsets will arrive on September 28, without disclosing when people can start pre-booking them.
Airtel is now here to clear up this mystery. The telecom brand has announced that the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will go up for pre-sales via its online store on September 21. Meanwhile, the iPhone XR is set to hit pre-order status on October 19. The former pair will go up for sale in India on September 28 and the latter on October 26.
iPhone XS, iPhone XR Price
The Airtel Online Store hasn’t listed any of the iPhones at the moment. There’s just a banner stating that they’re coming soon. Offers will probably start showing up closer to September 21. Other e-commerce sites like Amazon India and Flipkart haven’t started advertising the devices either.
The latest crop of iPhones are some of Apple’s most expensive ever, thanks to a combination of high taxes, high custom duties, and a record-low rupee. The 64GB iPhone XR starts the ball rolling with a Rs 76900 price tag. Its 128GB variant costs Rs 81900 and its 256GB option costs Rs 91900.
The iPhone XS raises the stakes to Rs 99900 (64GB), Rs 114900 (256GB), and Rs 134900 (512GB). The iPhone XS Max finishes things off at Rs 109900 (64GB), Rs 124900 (256GB), and Rs 144900 (512GB). All three are now enhanced with dual-SIM support, but through an eSIM.
For now, only Airtel and Reliance Jio support eSIMs in India. This might change with the arrival of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR since the feature will probably be in high demand by owners.
