iPhone 6 leaks hint at 13MP Sony camera, 1810mAh battery, improved Touch ID

Apple just can’t put a lid on iPhone 6 leaks and they keep pouring in with new reports highlight the handset’s imaging and battery components amongst others. We’ve even got word on a release date for iOS 8 beta 4 which is said to arrive on July 21, this coming Monday.

BGR notes that the firmware will be available to developers and testing partners, carrying improvements and bug fixes. No specific changes have been disclosed, so we’re just going to have to wait for a changelog. Coming back to the iPhone 6, the first leak is about the handset’s imaging capabilities.

G4Games is reporting based on information provided by Digi-wo that the smartphone could arrive with Sony’s latest 13MP Exmor IMX220 sensor with a sapphire lens. There’s also the possibility of seeing hardware OIS being onboard. Alleged battery details of the device have been leaked as well. Nowhereelse.fr has learnt that Apple plans on upgrading to an 1810mAh cell from the 1560mAh capacity in the 5S.

Adding credence to this report is a purported image of the battery (see below). The company is also said to be working on tighter software and hardware integration to squeeze more juice from the cell. Nowhereelese.fr has also learnt that the upcoming iPhone will have an improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor. There’s no word on what improvements are onboard, but the same component will be used for the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

So these are mostly all of latest rumors and leaks on the iPhone 6. Previous reports have highlighted that the phone will feature the new A8 SOC clocked at 2GHz and a Sapphire display cover that’s extremely durable.
