The Apple Store app update to version 2.0 has brought with it Personal Pickup and EasyPay features to aid users of the application. This upgrade aims to bring in an easier shopping experience for Apple fans in the U.S.
The Personal Pickup addition allows users to select the required Apple offering to be picked up later from any of the company’s retail stores. The Cupertino folks claims that most of the in-stock orders can be picked up ‘within an hour’ from any of the Apple retail stores. The Personal Pickup feature may benefit those users who are on the move and happen to be Apple loyalists.
It is EasyPay that comes into the picture to extend a helping hand to those users who may now not have to look for an available sales person at an Apple store. When in the store, prospective users can purchase the required accessory by scanning its barcode and paying through iTunes App Store with the credit card that is linked to their account.
And yes, the EasyPay feature comes with its own set of restrictions wherein only ‘select accessories’ can be purchased in the retail store. Plus, only the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S can be used in order to enjoy the benefits of this add-on and it’s restricted to the U.S.
Additionally, users can also keep a track of their current and previous orders via this app. This feature is something that even people in Canada and China can avail of. iOS 4.2 or later is required for this Apple Store app update and its included attributes to function.
