Apple users who are fans of the online multiplayer game Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning can look forward to some great news. Mythic Entertainment reveals that the game is being developed for the Mac platform. For eager gamers, a beta version of the title is presently available to them.
In the Mac beta version of Warhammer Online or popularly known as WAR, users can download to their Mac systems a client and can play the game through their live game accounts. There is also a downloadable 10-day beta trial account for players who do not possess a live account. Gamers will be in for a treat as the company is offering them some great goodies which are part of the WAR Mac beta event. The participating players’ character online will be awarded with an exclusive trophy and title reward.
“The MMORPG audience continues to expand, and that means gamers eager to experience WAR aren’t all playing on a PC. We want as many players as possible to experience the glory of Realm vs. Realm combat, and bringing WAR to the Mac makes this an exciting reality,” stated Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Warhammer Online incorporates the Cider Portability Engine from TransGaming. This lets the game run smoothly on Mac systems that are Intel-based. With the latest technology used by the title WAR, Mythic Entertainment can easily and quickly deploy the game the Mac. This provides Mac gamers with a unique way to experiencing gaming in a whole new light.
Players can download the beta version for Mac or the 10-day beta trial from the Warhammer Online website. The title is based on the famous tabletop war game from Gamers Workshop. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will keep players entangled in war as it features Realm vs. Realm. These include loads of engaging and enticing battlegrounds that would have gamers staring at the computer monitor for hours on end.
The game is currently available for the PC and has a Teen rating by ESRB. The title is expected to be ready by this autumn. Gamers can then battle and quest with each other on the same servers.
