We’ve seen many leaks on flagship phones from Sony, Samsung and HTC over the months and now, even LG’s G4 smartphone has possibly made its appearance on a benchmark listing. What has been revealed here is that the handset will carry the Snapdragon 810 SOC which is expected to be seen in devices from the aforementioned OEMs as well.
Now, there’s no concrete information that this leak is of the LG G4. But considering that it has Qualcomm’s best chip onboard, we’re more or less certain that it’s of flagship class. The phone has been spotted with the model number LG-F510L and it comes with Android 5.0.1 preloaded.
The Geekbench listing which was spotted by PhoneArena shows the motherboard as the MSM8994 which is an SKU in the S810 series. What’s interesting is that the clock speed is listed as 1.55GHz, while the said chipset should be capable of above 2.5GHz frequencies. For those new to the processor, it’s the successor to the Snapdragon 805 found on the Note 4.
The new chip has an octa core configuration based on ARM’s big.Little design is comprised of Cortex A53 and A57 cores. The GPU here is the Adreno 430 which is 30% faster than the Adreno 420, while the new CPU can offer 50% more performance over the S805 which we probably won’t see much this year.
As mentioned above, it’s unclear whether the LG-F510L is the LG G4 and there’s a possibility that the device might end up as the successor to the G Pro 2 or G Flex.
