The Samsung Knox security platform which is a safety solution aimed at business users has received a new sidekick in the form of Lookout, the mobile security app. This partnership is all set to merge the two services wherever they exist on Samsung’s Android devices. Additionally, Lookout has even announced that a business version of its service will be rolled out soon. According to the company, the move is aimed at workplaces with BYOD policies, and it has come at the right time as the ‘security stakes are now higher.’
Citing a Gartner report, Lookout tells us that one in three companies allow their employees to bring their own devices to work. This results in company data being accessed beyond the walls of the corporate network, putting it at a potential risk. It is due to this that a large number of businesses have apparently approached Lookout for creating a way to tend its mobile security services for their business needs.
As for the partnership with Samsung Knox, we’re not quite sure how this integration will come into effect. For those unaware, Samsung’s security service is an Android-based utility which allows business and personal content to coexist on the same mobile device. We’re expecting to hear more about the partnership of Samsung and Lookout from the floor of the IFA which is set to kick off soon.
Samsung’s conference at the event which is just hours away will most probably witness the launch of the Galaxy Note 3 as well as the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Stay tuned for news on that and more.
