Logitech has announced to launch QuickCam Vision Pro webcam, its first webcam for Mac systems. The new webcam delivers image-perfect detail and clarity and is ideally suitable for video calling with iChat and Skype, claims Logitech. Further, the device perfectly compliments to the design Mac system with its black-and-silver colored look and a prominent built-in silver microphone.
The QuickCam Vision Pro webcam is equipped with premium autofocus technology and Carl Zeiss optics. It uses a voice coil motor for its autofocus system instead of stepper motor. Hence the webcam offers fast and fluid focusing. Manufacturer claims that the QuickCam Vision Pro can even capture extreme close-ups which are even just 10 cm away from the camera lens.
The latest webcam is further backed by Logitech’s RightLight 2 Technology that enables webcam to adjust intelligently in dim or harshly according to the backlighted situations. It records sharp video clips in the 720p high-definition (HD) video format (960-by-720 pixels).
“With this new webcam for Mac computers, we’ve integrated our most advanced video technologies to truly enrich your video-calling experience,” said Gina Clark, general manager and vice president of Logitech’s Internet Communications business unit. “The lens and autofocus, the sensor and the lighting software all contribute to create image-perfect detail and clarity. Whether you’ve used a standalone or an embedded webcam in the past, you’ll be amazed at the difference in quality our new webcam makes.”
Another advantage of the QuickCam Vision Pro webcam is that it requires no additional software for installation. Instead it is a plug and play device, which can be used right out of the box.
Logitech’s QuickCam Vision Pro webcam will be shipping in US and Europe from July at $129.99.
