If there’s one thing the Logitech K310 is not afraid of, it’s water. That’s because this washable keyboard can actually be rinsed in the kitchen sink. So basically, the entire peripheral with the exception of the USB cable may be cleaned with water after those inevitable spills or greasy-fingered typing.
Claimed to be capable of surviving up to 11 inches of water, the device also features holes that are punched into it for conveniently draining away the excess liquid. Just to make certain that the characters on the keys don’t fade away owing to zealous washes, they are laser printed and UV coated too. The color scheme sported by this Logitech keyboard is black and white, with blue brightening up the underside.
“We’ve all experienced that moment of distraction – followed by panic, when a cup of coffee or a soda spills all over your keyboard,” explains Sophie Le Guen, senior director of mice and keyboards at Logitech. “Because life and its messes will happen, regardless of how careful you are, Logitech designed the Logitech Washable Keyboard K310 to look and function like new, even over time.”
The peripheral is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7. It is embedded with twelve hot keys for instant access to email, the internet, volume controls and more. The company promises that the device ‘can take a washing, as well as a pounding,’ with its ability to withstand five million keystrokes.
The Logitech K310 washable keyboard price is $39.99. It is expected to reach the US this month and Europe in October.
