LinkedIn for iPad makes its debut, comes Retina-ready

A certain business-related SNS has finally made its arrival on Apple’s 9.7-inch tablet through the LinkedIn for iPad application. What’s more, it’s even optimized for the slate’s Retina display.

Besides the calendar feature, the app packs in all attributes currently delivered on other mobile devices including updates, news, groups and profile views. Built to provide users with the essential information needed, the application is said to be divided into 3 parts. From snapshots of professional updates to news and various other details, it’s most likely to wrap all these in one place.

“The new experience re-imagines LinkedIn for the iPad, taking full advantage of multi-touch and the new Retina display. We aspire to be the place where every professional comes throughout the day. A place where members come to gather important business intelligence and insights to be great at what they do,” states Manish Sharma Senior Product Manager – Mobile & Tablet at LinkedIn.

According to the official LinkedIn blog, a simple swipe should provide access to users’ profile, connection and dashboard, while invitations and messages can be sent as well as received from a single interface. It allows members to view common interests with others like connections, work experiences and schools. Along with the iPad app, the company has launched a mobile web version of the social network for the Safari browser.

The LinkedIn for iPad application is available for download through the App Store, free of charge. Apart from the tool, those in possession of Apple’s 9.7-inch slate can access the professional social network by navigating to the tablet.linkedin.com website from the Safari web browser.
