LG’s UX 5.0 gets detailed ahead of G5’s release

LG UX 5.0

We’re in for quite a treat with the innovative LG G5 handset, however the company has also invested its attention towards bettering its user interface. UX 5.0 as it’s being called has just been detailed by it, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect from the software of the upcoming device, which will of course be based on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow release.

It’s no doubt that the main focus of UX 5.0 is support for LG Friends which are nothing but modules that can be added to the G5 to enhance its offerings. An LG Friends Manager application finds its way into the software, allowing it to detect nearby accessories for easy pairing. It also downloads and installs all the required apps for a particular module automatically.

This app is also capable of showing a different display for each Friend. For instance, if it’s paired with the 360 CAM the screen of the G5 starts displaying photo previews and the available shooting modes. These and a few more features like pinch zoom for switching to a wide-angle lens, an always-on display, 360-degree wallpapers, film effect filters and more will of course only be available on the LG G5.

As for traits that are likely to be doled out with the LG UX 5.0 releases for older devices, these include a refreshed homescreen which retains the app drawer, an upgraded LG Health app, a new file manager and other additional offerings.

The LG G5 has been slated for an April 1 release in the US. Carriers in the country have already started taking pre-orders for this much awaited device.
