The LG Optimus L5 II E450 found itself buried within a recent release of the company’s upgraded L Series II, languishing in the shadows without a launch date or a price. And while we wait for official confirmation on the handset’s availability, what has just been dug up is that it is coming to North America, Europe and Asia.
The mid-range Optimus L5 II E450 didn’t get a proper spot in the limelight in last week’s announcement of the refreshed L series from the company. The reveal focused mainly on the higher L7 II, which should have made its debut in Russia by now. But little is known about the mid-level device in question.
Once again, through all the technical details at the Bluetooth SIG, which stands for ‘Special Interest Group,’ it has apparently been found out that the phone will come to other markets besides Seoul, Korea. Folks in places including North America, Europe and other parts of Asia can also expect the handset, although an exact window of availability can’t be clearly stated at present.
The reason for introducing (or planning to introduce) a new refreshed range? Apparently the company did so well with the original L Series, selling more than 10 million units in the series within the first 10 months, that this was a no-brainer. But what do the refurbished phones bring to the table? Well, for starters, they have high-resolution IPS displays and dual SIM capabilities.
Unwired View has compiled what is a short list of all the known features of the device in question. It will come with Android Jelly Bean (the standard version 4.1.2) and have a 4-inch WVGA display bringing visuals to users. There should also be 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, in addition to GPS functionality.
A 1GHz processor is said to have been embedded within the device to run operations, while a PowerVR SGX531 GPU will assist in any graphically intensive tasks and situations like when playing games and viewing videos. Furthermore, there will be memory expandability via a microSD card slot. Finally, a 1,700mAh battery should round up the specs.
The LG Optimus L5 II E450 is to have a doppelganger in the E455, a dual SIM variant. Beyond unofficial confirmation that the handset is coming to the aforementioned regions, there is no concrete information yet. But with the MWC just around the corner we might see something develop soon.
