The LG Optimus L3 II was announced along with the L5 II and the L7 II ahead of the 2013 MWC, and now the company has revealed that the device will start rolling out globally beginning with Brazil this week. It marks the debut of the second model in the refreshed L Series, after the L7 II headed to Russia.
The device takes the styling and advanced features of the original further. It sports what the company calls a seamless layout and a radiant rear design. In addition, it has a contour cut by laser and the home button is characterized by ‘smart LED lighting.’ These are the four new elements that have apparently been infused into the handset in order to provide a fun perspective and an eye-catching look.
As a shot in the arm for productivity, users will be treated to QuickMemo with Overlay mode. This means that the multitasking previously only available with the company’s higher-end devices can now be offered thanks to an upgraded battery. Users will be able to take down notes on a transparent layer while still viewing content on the screen in the background.
The phone takes advantage of Android 4.1.2 and packs a 1GHz single core processor to keep things running smoothly. A 3.2-inch IPS display brings content to users, while 4GB of internal memory affords the space to store it. Expansion is possible up to 32GB via a microSD card.
RAM is capped at 512MB and there is a 3MP camera on the rear panel. The aforementioned battery capacity comes in at 1,540mAh, while connectivity options should include the regular stuff of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. A quick comparison with the dimensions of the original and it becomes clear that all the technological improvements amount to a slight increase in thickness.
The LG Optimus L3 II really is the smallest in the refreshed range. And while pricing hasn’t been made known, it is scheduled to be introduced in both single and dual SIM variants in markets including those in Central America, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa. It will come in four color options including indigo black, white, pink and titan.
